
Potasio Río Colorado, located in the province of Mendoza, is a comprehensive project covering all phases of production, processing and distribution of potassium chloride: the extraction and processing at the site located in the province of Mendoza, the chain development logistics that will enable rail transport fertilizer to the port of Ingeniero White, in the province of Buenos Aires, and the construction of port facilities.
Potassium chloride is one of the three essential nutrients of the soil, which is used as fertilizer for agriculture. With an estimated production of 2.4 million tonnes of potash per year, Potasio Rio Colorado in Argentina positioned between one of the main producers of the fertilizer in the world.
Currently, the project is in the final stage of feasibility study and its realization depends on the resolution of essential permits for the project and the approval of the Board and the Vale Council.
