MENDOZA, ARGENTINA. June 21, 2016. Argentina Mining is pleased to announce that Goldcorp Cerro Negro, a gold mine, 100% Owned by Goldcorp, has confirmed for the first time, it’s participation as Gold Sponsor of the 11th International Convention on Business Opportunities in Exploration, Geology and Mining, Argentina Mining 2016, which will take place September 7-9, 2016, in Salta Province.
Cerro Negro poured first gold on July 25, 2014 with commercial production achieved on January 1, 2015. Gold production for 2015 totaled 507,400 ounces and for 2016 is expected to be between 475,000 and 525,000 ounces. Cerro Negro is a high-grade gold mine located in the Santa Cruz province of Argentina. It contains several high-grade vein structures, including the Mariana Central, Mariana Norte, San Marcos and Eureka.
Cerro Negro was acquired in 2010 and since then the gold reserves and resources have nearly doubled, and new discoveries support our expectations that Cerro Negro will be a long-lived, high quality asset with low production costs. Cerro Negro's ideal physical setting and easily accessible veins will result in near-term, cash flow-accretive gold production.
“It is very important for Argentina Mining that Goldcorp joins us for the first time, being one of the leading companies in the southern región of Argentina, as Gold Sponsor of Argentina Mining 2016. We appreciate their participation, and wish them success in their endeavours in Argentina”, said Javier Rojas, VP of Argentina Mining, organizers of Argentina Mining 2016.
Goldcorp Cerro Negro joins other companies to participate in the 11th International Convention on Business Opportunities in Exploration, Geology and Mining to be held in Salta. The convention offers a 3-day conference program, exhibition of mining projects, products and services of main suppliers, and multiple networking opportunities.
