Argentina Mining is pleased to announce that the Brazilian mining company Vale, which develops the Potasio Río Colorado project in Malargüe, Mendoza, has confirmed its participation as Gold Sponsor for the Argentina Mining 2010 Convention, to be held in San Juan city, from August 31 till September 2, 2010.
Vale develops the Potasio Río Colorado project in Malargüe, Mendoza, Argentina. Potasio Río Colorado is an ambitious project including the development of a mine with an initial rated capacity of 2.4 Mt per year of potassium and a potential expansion of 4.35 Mt per year. Future constructions include a 350 km railway, port installations, and a power generating plant. Investment is estimated in USD 4.1 billion, with a production scheduled to start in the second half of 2013.
